The Wills Marquees story, as with our own, began with a couple’s dream of a special marquee for their wedding. That couple, Chris and Lynsey, are now the proud and successful owners of Wills Marquees.
Chris and Lynsey’s search for the perfect marquee ended in 2011 when they found an artisan maker in Cornwall run by David, a former boat builder and polymath, Laura. Together, David and Laura had spent decades making beautiful handmade pole and cotton canvas marquees the traditional way, but they were looking to retire from marquee making and wanted to pass their skills on and keep their knowledge alive. And so it was that Chris and Lynsey took on these time honoured techniques and launched Wills Marquees, based in North Yorkshire.
They recruited craftsmen and women, canvas cutters, seamstresses, carpenters and engineers to make marquees with the same timeless quality that came from a long heritage of bespoke tent making. Today Wills Marquees are available to hire in the UK and parts of Europe.
